Bulova Accutron Astronaut With Day/Night Bezel Watch Silver Dial
Offered is this FULLY SERVICED Bulova Accutron Astronaut with Day/Night Bezel. It has been phased to run accurately and reliably with a standard 1.55 volt modern battery and keeps excellent time. It has a brand new battery just installed, and has just been FULLY SERVICED. The GMT hand works properly as well (it will point straight down at the 6 position at noon, and straight up at 12 at midnight).
On the Day/Night Astronaut, the "GMT" hand does not measure military time like a standard Astronaut. It measures standard time and divides that into day (6am to 6 pm-silver portion of bezel), and night (6pm to 6am-black portion of bezel). With the bezel in its current position (black portion at top), the GMT hand points to 10:10am so the rotating bezel is set to the current time. To match time 12 hours ahead or behind with the GMT hand time (depending on which side of the international date line one is on), one would rotate the bezel 180 degrees so that the GMT hand was pointing to 10:10 in the black portion of the bezel.
With the lugs almost hidden underneath the large bezel and the setting crown on the back of the watch, it really has a clean look on the wrist. The Day/Night bezel on this example is in superb condition, and makes the watch stand out even more.
