Bulova Accutron "Accuquartz" 2242 Watch New Old Stock
Offered is this unused FULLY SERVICED Bulova Accuquartz that sets and runs great. It has a brand new battery just installed and keeps excellent time. The day/date feature, at 3, works correctly. It appears to have never been used. The case back has a clearview window to observe the movement. I'm not sure if this is the way the watch was offered originally, but it is certainly well done if an alteration.
The 22412 marked the end of the Accutron movement in the early 70s. The tuning forks vibrated only to drive the index mechanism. The rate was controlled by quartz circuitry in the module on the left side of the movement. It is signed on the dial, movement, and crown. It's a great piece of history marking the beginning of the Quartz Revolution. This example comes with the original Accuquartz marked strap, and original hang tag.
