Vulcain Electronic Watch LIP R184 Movement
Offered is this FULLY SERVICED great looking VERY RARE Vulcain Electronic that sets, runs great, and keeps excellent time. The date function works properly and advances each night at midnight. It uses the French made LIP electronic movement. The dial on this watch is exceptional in gilt black with subtle butler finish, and blue accents. The hand black inserts match the marker style perfectly-a well though out design.
LIP actually made the world's first electronic watch, being introduced in 1958, using a tiny diode to reduce sparking of the contacts. They licensed these movements to other watch companies, such as Vulcain. The R 184 was the world's first electronic watch with a date function. This is the only Vulcain branded example I have seen.
