Super Nautic-Ski Super Compressor Dive Waltham By LIP Watch
Offered is this FULLY SERVICED rare Waltham by Lip Super Compressor Super Nautic-Ski Diver's watch with unique count down bezel that sets, and runs great. It has a brand new battery just installed. It has two crowns: The crown at 4 adjusts the time, and the crown at 2 rotates the inner bezel. Both crowns work properly, and the date function advances each night at midnight. The rotating bezel is very unique in that it counts the minutes down rather than up. This is a feature rarely seen on a dive watch. Rather than setting the bezel zero marker to the minute hand before a dive and counting minutes underwater, the diver would decide how many minutes to dive and set that bezel number (15 minutes, for example) to match the minute hand. When the minute hand reached zero on the bezel, it would be time to surface.
The LIP Electric watch was the world's second electric watch, being introduced in 1958. The R 184 was the world's first electric watch with a date function. The case on this watch is large at 42mm in width without crown and 43mm lug to lug.
