Hamilton Electric Regulus Stainless Steel Asymmetric Watch
Offered is this FULLY SERVICED (ultrasonic wash, rinse, and lubrication) Hamilton Electric Regulus watch. Pictured in René Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on page 152, it was released in December of 1958 with an original price of $100. It is signed on the dial, case, movement, and crown. It runs great and keeps time to well under 30 seconds variation per day and has a brand new battery just installed. The hack function works properly, and the watch starts right up each time the crown is pushed in from the setting position to the running position.
The Regulus was only made for about a year, with an estimated production of 2400, so is difficult to find today. It has a unique "D" shaped case with round dial and seconds hand that is unique to this model. Original Regulus watches were fitted with 500 movements, but this one has been upgraded to a 505 movement. As a plus, it has had a NEW OLD STOCK D-PIN installed in the balance, so it will run virtually as it did from the factory.
