Hamilton Electric Ventura Mint 18K Yellow Gold Watch
Offered is this MINT, BELIEVED TO BE UNUSED, Hamilton Electric 18K Solid Gold Ventura watch. It was owend by a former Hamilton Employee for nearly 50 years before surfacing. Another like this is not likely to be seen again. Pictured in René Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on pages 164 to 169, it was released in October 1958 for Export. It is signed on the dial, case, crown, movement, strap and buckle. This example runs, but has not been serviced in the event that the new owner wants it left in original condition. If service is requested after purchase, it will be fully serviced and warranted at time of shipping.
The Ventura was the first of the Hamilton Electrics released, along with the conservative Van Horn. The shape reflects the "boomerang" motif which was common in that era and was designed by Richard Arbib. Even the crown symbolized the new "Electric" watch, obviously being much too small to wind. The Ventura truly symbolizes the unique character of Hamilton Electric watches. This is the only 18K Ventura that we have seen in this fine condition. Note that the buckle on this example is 14K rather than 18K.
