Hamilton Electric 14K White Gold Polaris
Here's your chance to own a FULLY SERVICED (ultrasonic wash, rinse, and lubrication) Hamilton Electric 14K White Gold Polaris watch. Pictured in René Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on page 151, it was released in June 1960 with an original price of $150.00. It is Four Times signed on the dial, case, movement, & crown. It runs great and keeps time to well under 30 seconds variation per day and has a brand new battery just installed. The hack function works properly, and the watch starts right up each time the crown is pushed in from the setting position to the running position.
The Polaris has an understated eccentricity. It was definitely a fine dress watch of its day. It is rare to find the White Gold version, and this one has it's original dial finish. It differs from the Polaris II in that the case opens from the rear, so it is able to have the teardrop shaped dial and crystal, giving it a little something extra. Surprisingly, there were only around 6,100 of these watches produced, so they are not all too common. As a plus, it has had a NEW OLD STOCK D-PIN installed in the balance, so it will run virtually as it did from the factory.
