Hamilton Piping Rock 14K Yellow Gold With Unique Dial
Offered is this Fully Serviced 14K Yellow Gold Hamilton Piping Rock that winds, sets, and runs great. It keeps excellent time.
What makes this Piping Rock unique is the dial configuration. When the dials for these particular watches were made (for example: Piping Rock, Coronado, Spur) the markers and the Hamilton name were stamped into the dial, and then the depressions were filled with the black enamel to create the markers and name. On this particular dial the hour markers extend past the track that circles the dial. On all other examples we have seen they are slightly wider than the minute markers, but stay within the track circling the dial. The difference makes this a very unique dial and must have originally been made this way because the tracks are stamped into the dial.
The enameled Bezel is in great shape for it's age, and the hinged lugs work flawlessly. The high grade Serviced 19 Jewel movement was used in almost all Piping Rocks. The hands are correct and in great shape as well. You would be very hard pressed to find a more unique example of a Piping Rock. Don't let it slip away.
