Bulova Accutron 2182G Watch Gold Tone With Original Strap

Offered is this great looking Bulova Accutron 2182G watch that sets and runs great. This watch really exemplifies the 1970s era. It is in mint condition with original strap, and Accutron hang tag. The day of the week wheel is in German, making a nice point of conversation. The "G" designation means that the crown has three positions, with the fully out position cutting power to the movement, preserving the battery. In a normal 2182 the battery continues to drain in the setting position, so it is advisable to store them either in the running position, or with the battery removed. The "G" models can be stored for longer periods in the crown fully out position without draining the battery.

Hamilton felt it was in a race to release the first battery powered watch  Little did they know that the Accutron was to be released several years after the Hamilton Electric. The Accutron was a complete departure from traditional watches and benefited from lessons learned from Hamilton's hasty release of the Electric. The history of these watches makes them great conversation pieces and great additions to an electric watch collection.
