Hamilton Electric 507 Calendar PROTOTYPE Watch

$2,995

Offered is this very rare Hamilton Electric PROTOTYPE 507 CALENDAR watch. Pictured in René Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on pages 92-93, it was planned in 1965 and 1966, but never released to the market.

Approximately 25 of these prototype watches were produced, but concerns that an even more complicated watch would result in even greater service problems and the addition of thickness to an already thick 505 movement caused production to be terminated. These watches are extremely rare and a great prize for a Hamilton Electric collector.

This model runs and keeps excellent time and all functions work properly.

The watch window moves and follows the date until it flips at midnight. It is interesting that with this feature, it can actually be told whether it is am or pm. For instance, since as pictured the date is on the upper middle portion of the window, you can surmise that it is 10:07 AM rather than PM.

Consider the rarity of the Altair, with 1600 total produced vs. the Calendar 507 with a mere 25 ever produced.
